"Mentor Coaching with PLOT for Youth"

PLOT is a Brooklyn based male mentoring program for at-risk boys between the
ages of nine and twenty-one. Participants are matched with screened and trained
committed mentors that meet with them for a minimum of 4 hours a month. PLOT
mentors demonstrate strong leadership qualities and act as positive role models in
the lives of young mentees, which may be involved in the Justice System.
Mentors build solid relationships with their mentees as they spend time playing
sports, attending events, volunteering and working on their goals. Mentors commit
to working with their mentees for a total of 12 months, meeting at least 4 hours a
month. An addition to one in one time, matches also participate in organizational
events such as Fun Days, Movie Nights and skill building sessions.
Overall, PLOT believes that all youth can avoid incarceration or re-incarceration
through realizing their personal and educational goals. PLOT mentors believe that
